This notice explains the optional Google Analytics used on RayOfNews and how to change your choice.
What this notice covers
This notice describes RayOfNews’ analytics use. It does not describe every kind of information that may be handled when you use other site features, such as newsletter subscriptions or story submissions.
Analytics cookies and consent
Google Analytics is off unless you choose Allow analytics in the consent panel. If you allow it, RayOfNews loads Google’s Analytics tag, which may use analytics cookies in your browser, including cookies such as _ga, _ga_*, and _gid, to measure visits and site usage. The exact cookies and their lifetimes depend on the Google Analytics configuration and are not specified here.
Your choice is saved in this browser’s local storage as either granted or denied. RayOfNews does not send that preference to its server. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice is respected for the current session but may not persist after you leave.
Information sent for analytics
When analytics is enabled, RayOfNews sends page-view events to Google Analytics. These include the page path and page title. Before sending a page path, the site removes query strings and fragments and limits it to recognized page paths; other paths are sent as “/other.”
Referrers are reduced to the referring website’s origin (scheme and host). RayOfNews does not send the full referrer URL, its path, or its query string in these analytics events. Google may also process technical information such as browser, device, and IP-related data to provide its analytics service. See the Google Privacy Policy.
RayOfNews does not store Google Analytics page-view events in its own account or database.
Change or withdraw your choice
You can change or withdraw consent at any time using Privacy settings in the site footer. Choosing Reject analytics disables further analytics tracking in this browser and removes Google Analytics cookies that the site can access. This does not itself request deletion of information Google received before you withdrew consent.
Retention — owner confirmation needed
